Hello Ladies ! a lot of change has been going on lately. Pardon not posting anything for a long time. Many changes have been going on lately and one of them is Moving to Miami In a couple of weeks. Yup just like you heard. I have been planing my trip for over a year deciding weather to leave NY or Stay i decided to leave. Want to try new adventures and one of them is living on my own. 

Another change is that i open a Blog in Spanish as many as you know i am Latina and thanks to my parents i can read and write in Spanish. One night i decided  i want to write to Latina women from all over the world. 

And third is VACATION !! Finally ! i really need vacation. I will be going for two weeks to Dominican Republic where i cannot wait to soak in the water and drink Piña Coladas my favorite. And.... Since i will be traveling i decided to write a post on some of the clothing and accessories i will be taking with me. I want to travel as light as i can. Due to than once i come back i will only be in NY for 2 days and will then leave to Miami. 

I want to enjoy the fullest and relax with my family. I want to let my hair air dry and forget about straightening. I want to enjoy those two weeks and soak my feet on the warm sun touch by the sun. I want to feel airy and not worried one bit of New York and my first Semester of Grad School. 

And Guess what ladies that's what i will try my best to do. I will be packing my favorite. Shorts, cotton tee bought from stores such as H&M and Target, a nice flowy dress to dance at night, a pair of sneakers to travel comfortable, a piece a jewelry that goes with everything. The IT Sandals of the moment GLADIATOR Sandals and a one piece swimsuit which i think is so back this summer. 

I also got a large tote bag. The good thing about this bag is that is reversible. Which it equals to two bags ! great for the beach and Travel and guess what it's under $50 Dollars. I am obsessed over this leather bag. 

I will post as much as i can in Miami ! cannot wait for this new adventure but for now keep them Piña Coladas coming !

Mothers Day Gift Ideas

Hello Chicas ! Guess what? we are a few days away from Mother's day. The most special day on earth! I don't know for you ladies but everyday is a blessing waking up and watching my mother smile, laugh, have coffee and simply have my best friend next to me. I lost my dad a couple years ago and i have to admit she has been there for me always. I always try to demonstrate the love and admiration i have for her.

 I thought to myself let me share with you ladies what i would give my mom on her day. My mom is the most simple lady in this world. She is not picky at all. She is all about comfort, tradition, nature and neutrals. 

On this inspiration post i kept it simple. I added a fun orange tote bag with long handles perfect for everyday and traveling. The most comfortable sandals on earth, a nice perfume of course Tory Burch it smells divine. 

I also added a watch this Kate Spade watch gives your outfit a touch of glam. I had to add a home plant. My mother and I are in love with plants and Flowers. And to tell you the truth who doesn't want a home plant? Could not leave the Mothers Day Card don't forget to add some nice words and for last a coffee maker with a fun mug. Coffee is perfect for bonding time if not coffee, tea is perfect.

Hello November !

 November has finally arrived. I feel like October was the longest month ever ! November is going to be super fun and busy full of Family and tons of work. That means more relaxing outfits. Over the weekend I got inspired to make this comfortable outfit. Fall is great to rock your trench coat. It is divine and basically you can dress it up or down.   As most of you know i am all about Comfort and Classy. 

This outfit is perfect for Brunch, a weekend walking around in the city or a movie night. It is also great to take with you while traveling. I added neutral tones and as you can see very comfortable shoes. These are the most comfortable shoes to walk around or if you have to stand for long period of time these are the famous TOD'S Loafers.  You can rock this outfit day and night. I hope it inspires you and it gives you a sense of how to use a trench coat on a regular basis during the Fall.

Autumn Work Wear Inspiration

Fall is officially here which that means bright colors are out and fall colors are in.  Leaves are falling, pumpkin pies are in the oven and one of my favorite fruits are in season, APPLES wardrobe has to be full of army green, burgundy, and neutral fun tones. I mean people usually love to wear black and white to work. why not spice it up this Autumn and wear different type of prints and colors that will compliment this season. 

This outfit inspiration that i made is perfect for office attire. You have the button down shirt, the nude pumps, blazer and an amazing bag that fits your planner. I decided to spice it up with this amazing pencil skirt it is just beautiful. J.Crew did great this season as always. I added the basic white collar shirt and the typical fitted blazer that can also work as an everyday jacket. 

To spice up the outfit a bit more i added a burgundy bag. Which BTW I have a major crush on. for the makeup and accessories i left it very neutral again you are going to work not to a fair. But.... If you have a job in that permits you to dress more "fun why not add an extra layer of this dark burgundy color.

Dreaming Of Portofino Italy

Now that I am finally settled in my new apartment. I feel like is time to go on a vacation. Vacation i missed that word so much. Maybe not the word but the meaning of it. Vacation means to me disconnected of the world no Internet, phone, or emails. Sipping on a mimosa, relaxing, eating great food, and discovering new places. Currently I dream of Portofino Italy. 

Just in case you didn't know where Portofino is located it is a village located on the Italian riviera it has FOUR beaches. I have been dreaming of visiting Italy since i was in college and after reading the book Eat Pray Love which if you haven't read it i suggest you do. It has been a while without posting something on the blog due to the over whelm of my new apartment. 

Gosh it is so stressful to unpack and decor a new place so many decisions to make. But now i am settled and ready to relax. Well at least. I wish. I still have a couple of months before i go on vacation but mean while i will keep dreaming of Italy and it's amazing food and culture. Hi Ya'll i hope everyone had a great weekend. Here in NYC we have high degrees and  also tons of unexpected showers. My allergies have been attacking me and i am also in the mist of moving. Which if you have moved before you know how stressful it is. That is why i decided to make this outfit inspiration. I am dreaming of Paris. I imagine wearing this outfit and walking down the most famous streets and little shops of Paris France. I mean why not dream. 

This outfit is casual, airy, feminine, clean and fun. The color of the dress id just perfect. It the perfect sky blue. I added a touch of pink with the fun scarf that screams Spring. Mothers Day Gifts Ideas

May is Finally here that means that Mothers day is right around the corner. In my home we celebrate Mothers Day twice. The American and Dominican Mothers day. American is at the beginning of May and Dominican is the Last Sunday of the month. I usually divide the gifts that i give my mom. Either one day i just take her out for brunch and the other i give her flowers and a nice present.

 Here i have different ideas of different gifts you can give your mom or grandmother on Mothers Day. I have a variety of options which you can choose. These are my top 9 gifts. Remember to never forget the card. I usually write a hand letter to my mom which she values a lot due that today most people send emails and texts and forget about hand writing a letter.  I am still old school. Plus my mom knows the hard work and dedication i put to the letter i even decorate it using color pencils just like the old days when i was in elementary school.

 I hope these gifts can give you a clue of what you want to give to your loved one. Never forget to say I LOVE YOU to your mom even if you live far from her call her and let her know. Work Outfit

Pardon my absence on the blog. These past weeks i have been busy attending job interviews and also taking extensive workout classes. I guess two of my main goals for this new year are working so far. If you follow me on Instagram  you will know what i am talking about. 

While attending different interviews with news stations. I have noticed that i have fallen in the trap of the typical suit or black and white and grey pants for interviews. I want to be formal but not plain. I have decided to go shopping for interview clothing. I have checked my favorite stores and i came up with this outfit. It's a pair of print pants, a white tailored shirt and a fun blazer. The bright lipstick i added it for when i get the job. I will go with a nude lipstick and not with a bright color. 

I have also added a couple of accessories such as these fun pumps, the beautiful pair of earrings from Kate Spade and the minimalistic neutral bag. this outfit screams my name is cute, well put together, fashionable yet great for your everyday job or interview. I am accepting advice on job interview attire. What would be your statement piece for a job interview?

Chic Outfit For A Night In The City

The city is getting full of Christmas trees and lights. It is just breath taking. I got inspired and decided to create a Chic outfit for the night. In reality I wish i would have this outfit right now but it is raining and cold in NYC that literally I prefer to be how i am now, wrapped in so many layers. 

Although, I am not saying you can't rock this outfit in the winter I will just switch shoes from pumps to knee high boots. This outfit is perfect for dinner, or just if you want to look for chic and elegant. The fur vest is a must in the winter and with those leather gloves your outfit will look exquisite. I feel that every girl should own a pair of leather gloves. It is an investment of course if you live in a city like mine where you get snow and it gets as cold as below zero degrees. Their is just something about putting on a pair of leather gloves it makes me feel elegant and classy. 

The focal point of this outfit are the earrings, these chandelier looking earrings are a must it gives you that extra touch of glam that every girl needs in her life. I couldn't forget the bag. As you gals know i have been drooling over a Celine bag for over a year but with my budget it's just not happening although i pray to God that Santa Claus notice i was a good girl this year and gift it to me.

 I added the smaller version Celine because is a night outfit and i don't want it to be the number one focal point . I wanted to light up a bit the outfit since is mainly black with a touch of burgundy and with this bag the cream color is making the outfit brighter and pop out.

In A Very Plaid World !

I have always dreamed of being that typical classy lady from the upper east side. I guess with my obsession of Gossip Girl. I loved Blair and I loved her outfits. Every time I walk around the upper east side it reminds me of the show and of course of how charming the neighborhood is. In honor of that charming neighborhood and Gossip Girl I have this outfit in my mind. I think this outfit is beautiful and classy. 

 I mean for Gods sake the name of my Blog is Diary of a classy lady. I guess I am a bit obsessed with lady like classy outfits and lifestyles. This outfit is for the typical lady that loves to wear a fashionable outfit and also that loves plaid. This Ralph Lauren dress is perfect for this season. It is the perfect length and color. The makeup can be pretty easy just slap on a dark matte lipstick and you will look FABULOUS !

I wish i could have  it hanging on my closet but since i know that won't happen ill just leave it as a dream. So this is my "I wish i could wear that" outfit post. Happy Friday !! My question for you ladies is what is the synonym of classy to you?

Orange Is The New Black !

One of the things that I love about autumn is how you can spice up your wardrobe with different color palettes.  I am usually all about neutrals. If you look in my closet you won't find a lot of bright  clothing pieces. Now that is October and is finally feeling like autumn I have fallen in love with this tangerine color.  It is Beautiful and this orange tone fits with the season and It's perfect for Halloween. 

If you are like me and love neutral colors you can start with nail polish or a simple necklace. All the pieces that I have added are great. I don't have a favorite but I do know that each of these pieces would be great in your closet.   So lets put some color in our lives this Fall.

Back To School Favorites : College Edition

Hello September !  It's finally here and although summer is not gone yet that is how I feel after Labor day.  I am a bit nostalgic not because summer is over but because students are heading back to a new year of hard school work. I don't know why but I am sad !! I truly am. I thought that after graduating college I would be happy  because I would be entering the real world and finally i wouldn't have to write 10 page papers for my Global Communications class. 

Last week I met with my best friend because she wanted  to buy her school supplies. I was just their by her side while she was looking around for notebooks and pens.  While I was looking around, I would see students looking for the same things. It was so funny that I told her to pick the pink five star notebook in my honor. So she did of course. My Family members think is pathetic but I have been in school all my life and I actually enjoyed being in school and learning new things.

  So I decided to do a back to school post on what I would usually take to college with me. These would never leave my bag. I have included a Long Champ tote because it is my favorite bag I used it for 3 years straight and now it's just hiding in my closet because I don't want to throw it away, too many memories. I hope everyone that is going back to school have a great year full of achievements. While I can't wait to enter grad school in the Spring.  

BTW this is my beat up Long Champ just in case you wouldn't believe me. :)

The Perfect Day to Night Outfit

As I have said a million times before that I love to shop for outfits that can have different outcomes from casual to chic or even the perfect after work night outfit. I am a big fan of J.Crew I love everything and one of the things that I love is their skirts. Especially this skirt and since I am in love with prints I think this is the perfect skirt for work or  for a night outfit. It has a great balance and the print on it is just perfect. 

I have created this look for the typical young woman that is fashionable yet works in the corporate world or something similar or that simply loves to wear print skirts. On the left you can see I have added black flats, an over sized watch and a great bag big enough to fit all of her stuff. ( my kind of bag) You can also include a cardigan for the chilly days at the office like this one from J Crew.

On the right I added a bib necklace. It  is a great statement piece, it gives the outfit a touch of glam. A black clutch of course by Clare Vivier, nude pair of heels and a bold lipstick. 

I think this outfit is versatile and great for day and night. Good for the office at day or wine time with friends or the boyfriend. What you Gals think ? leave a comment

Simplicity of A Friday Outfit !

TGIF ! Thank God Is Friday Literally this week has been a bit hectic for me. I have been running around attending different interviews and also working long hours. Thankfully Fridays are more relaxing....although I still have to work full day.  As I said before on my other blog post that in the summer I hate wearing a lot of accessories due to that my skin doesn't cope very well in the summer and also because I don't want to feel like I am over dressed or have too much on. That is why I love to wear dresses especially maxi dresses, a pair of flip flops and hit the streets. This is the perfect outfit that identifies my not so busy Friday on a hot summer day. Thankfully these past couple of days have been extremely nice and not raining or cold. I hope everyone enjoy their weekend.

June has finally arrived that means hot summer days and many iced coffees. Yep I am addicted to ice coffee. As a New Yorker I know summer gets pretty bad . I try to use as much as possible cotton clothes or light clothing pieces and very minimal with my accessories. I want to be comfortable and not feel like i have too much on.  This is my typical outfit on a hot summer day. Its chic and casual.

College Graduation Gifts....

I Can't believe I am graduating in one day. After four years of hard work, waking up early, reading so many books, writing so many papers and finally preparing my thesis the day is finally here. I have to admit that I am so nervous I guess because one side of me still wants to be a student and the other side is scared to confront the real world, the job market. With this economy it is so difficult to find a job in your field but I am positive that I will find a job in the journalism field. But let's leave that aside for now and lets think about Graduation Gifts, As most of you that will be also graduating from college and will be like me trying to find a job and that means applying for different job positions. I have here my top five gifts that are on my "Graduation wish list" that are great and useful. 

I think is great to have a card case because you need to keep your business cards organize and in one place. I have learn that business cards are great for networking. Networking is a great way of connecting with many people.  

I included the new J crew bucket bag one because is gorgeous but also because it's spacious it's great for traveling, if you have a job it fits a couple of things and you can also use it as a cross body bag and is neutral. 

A camera It is great for graduation day but also now that you will be free you might want to go on a weekend getaway with your family or friends and how nice it is to look back at those fun memories.

One of the other gifts I included was the Kate Spade Planner I think it is important to use a planner in your daily life. I use one since I started college and I cannot live without one. I need to organize everything and have everything planned out if not i will be a mess. It will be great for us entering the job force, and the last product I have is another Kate spade product but this time a watch. I think is good to have a watch that way you don't have to use your phone all the time to check what time it is and for some reason i find people look more professional wearing a watch. well this is my list I hope you guys like it and Congratulations to everyone that is graduation this year and is part of Class of 2013 !

It's Time To Takeout The Espadrilles.........

Hello Ladies this week while cleaning my closet for spring I found a couple of old espadrilles that I have gotten throughout the years. I said to myself I think is time to take the Espadrilles out. Not only are they comfortable but also classic, chic, trendy and great for spring and summer. I love both styles. I love the espadrilles with the wedge heel. They look so cute, I think they are great if you want that extra height. But I have to admit that my favorites are the flat espadrilles I take them with me on vacation during the summer, great to rock them with shorts, dresses and jeans.

Hey y'all I am back with a couple favorite Spring accessories that are great for this Spring, and guess what they are all under 100 dollars. Which is great for us girls that want to save on some cash. Ann Taylor Loft came out with the most gorgeous pieces for this spring like the flats with the yellow bow and that lovely coral scarf as I wrote in my other post that I had a crush on the color coral I have my eye on this baby going to check it out on the weekend. I also love how Kate Spade every season comes out with the cutest phone cases. I love this bright flowery one it's so cute and preppy.
